The cornerstones of a Morris Mule Trailer are functionality, simplicity and strength. With proper care your great grandchildren will be using your Morris Mule Trailer. The backbone of the trailer is the tubular chassis which is built more like a stock-car than a small trailer. The lower frame is constructed of 2 inch by 2 inch square tubing with 11 Gauge (approximately 1/8 inch) wall thickness pulled by a 2 x 2 x ¼ inch tongue. The upper frame is constructed of 2 x 2 x 14 Gauge Steel. The Cargo Box is formed from 16 Gauge steel and is welded in the frame at over 100 points. The all-aluminum Cargo Box Lids are formed with a center “gutter” that, combined with rubber seals, keeps your gear out of the weather. The tail gate is a welded construction using an aluminum tube frame skinned with 1/8 inch thick aluminum sheet inside and out. The standard Rack comes with two sets of uprights and can be run in the high or low position. It allows easy and secure external cargo capability whether it is a canoe, a load of plywood, or a college freshman’s furniture.
The bed is supported and protected by a tubular frame/chassis that incorporates over 65 feet of 2" x 2" steel square tubing of thicknesses ranging from the 1/4" wall tongue TO The 11 Gauge Frame to the 14 Gauge uprights.
The internal bed dimensions are 38.5 inches wide, 58 inches long and 18 inches deep providing just over 23 cubic feet of cargo capacity. It is formed of 16 Gauge and welded to the frame at over 100 points.
The front external cargo hold allows for out of bed storage for large or bulk items and has almost limitless tie-down possibilities.
Five steel "U" shaped tie-downs are accessible as well as 14 hook points along the front skirts and hook bars on the front of the bed.
The standard axle on the Morris Mule is a 2000 pound Dexter Torflex Axle which allows for 1400 pounds of gear to be hauled. Axles up to 3500 pounds can be purchased as and option. The Torflex provides independent suspension and a very smooth pull both on and off road.
Our standard tire is a 235/75R15 Goodyear Wrangler Radial however the standard fenders will accommodate up to 33 inch tires. When running above 33 inches we build custom fenders for an exact fit.
With the standard tires the center ground clearance on the Mule is xx inches.
Aluminum Bed Lids are formed with a center “gutter” that, combined with foam seals front and rear, provides a weatherproof seal.
Once at Camp the top lids fold out and become counter tops as quick as you can open the doors and clip on the adjustable supports.
"Jeep Style" latches Secure the Lids Front and Rear while traveling. A simple padlock on each end of the lids will deter the casual thief.
When opened and secured, each Bed Lid provides a little over eight and a half square feet of counter top space
All Morris Mule Rack Systems are easily removed and modified.
The standard trailer comes with two sets of uprights so that the rack can be run in the low or high position (it does not telescope up and down(.

With a 49 Inch width between the uprights the mule can easily accommodate a couple of Kayaks or many sheets of plywood.
